Jack blinked and looked up at the sound of her voice. He should have known better... Martha would always find him. And it wasn't like Jack was actually trying to hide from her. He clasped his hands together and rested his elbows on his desk, smiling faintly as she leaned against the doorjam. "I didn't want to wake you," he replied softly. "So I figured I'd try and get a little work done and let you rest."
He did smile though as he pointed out, "You know... you can use your swipe card to disable the klaxon before you come in. That's mainly there for visitors. Granted, the lights and sirens are fun and it really got on Owen's nerves sometimes. But... just saying." He shrugged and smiled again, but it was more forced and didn't reach his eyes.
