Martha walked over to the two military men and set a cup of tea down next to the Colonel. If nothing else she thought maybe it would help him feel a bit better. She had had the feeling that Jack would ask Hogan to join. He just seemed the type.
The American took the cup gratefully, taking a few sips, trying to picture a community of aliens running around freely under ground. But then again... it was probably a safe place for them. Keep themselves separated from the humans above, keep themselves safe. Sort of like the Underground... Still whatever Jack was talking about with this rift? The massive problems? He didn't like that. Hadn't they just dealt with one massive problem? Well... he had. But that was now such a long time ago.
Robert would have been lying if he said that Jack's question hadn't caught him a tiny bit off guard. He tilted his head, shooting the captain one of his patented, 'tell me another' looks. "You want to recruit me, a time lost old man who doesn't know how to use a computer to your super secret organization." It wasn't really a question. On the other hand he had experience. Loads of it. "Does this job involve blowing stuff up? Because I'll admit I'm a little rusty on that." He'd done a lot of sabotage in his day, but Newkirk had done all the explosives.
