He allowed the beams to pierce his left shoulder, removing his arm just to land an axe kick. As his arm turned to ash he showed no signs of pain or fear. He brought down his heel full force, his body suddenly engulfed in an intense fiery golden aura. His strength had suddenly increased fivefold.
And his incinerated arm started to grow back, armor flowing across his skin like viscous liquid as he unleashed several strings of impressive combination. His attacks became much stronger and he became faster as well. Escaflowne called for a metal battle staff that he caught as a lightning bolt with a clap of thunder. Among his newer abilities was high speed regeneration triggered when wounded as he had been. His skin was able to be pierced, albeit nowhere near as easily as a human. His muscle was about five times more dense and strong as that of a human. He wasn't invincible but he was immortal.
"It's a good thing we're only sparring or I'd be in a lot of trouble. I know no fear. I feel no pain. I fear not death. I am a warrior and shall not yield. Dreadnoughts don't run nor do we surrender. They fall back only to defend the innocent. Anything less, is unacceptable." Her powers didn't scare him. But that's because he lacked the ability to feel fear. The only way he'd exit combat was an ordered retreat or if he fell in battle.
"I'm not going to dodge your vision so I'd appreciate it if you would just use melee."
