He was waiting for her in her apartment, waiting in the darkness. He hung from the ceiling, his eyes steadfast on the door, hoping she would be returning soon. For the past couple of days Bruce tailed Superman, spying on his every move. He’d uncovered that he was under the control of a witch’s spell... Maleficent and effected by a form of kryponite that was distinctly crimson in color. It did not bode well. He seemed completely unrestrained, using his powers against all who opposed him. Should he confront him, he was going to need help. Batman had never faced an enemy like this. He needed to have an army of heroes behind him and to well equipped. He’d already contacted Jason Blood and informed Zatanna but they needed more than just magic experts. They needed to match Clark in strength and speed. They needed Wonder Woman.
The door opened and Batman watched the woman step inside. He waited a moment before dropping down from her ceiling with an intentional “thump,” hoping to get ger attention without startling her and provoking an attack. He didn’t say anything to her, just watched as she turned toward him, knowing she would recognize him. If she hadn’t heard of “Batman” before, Clark would have told her about him. He stood up from his crouching position and staring down the woman with her long dark, wavy hair.
She was in her apartment in the city. She thought of a two things. Both of them were Super. Her girl Supergirl, her lover and Superman. One she knows is on her Island, the other...well she's a bit more concerned about the other. She has been working overtime since Superman was gone. She was about to change into her civies then she heard the bump. She turned and she looked and narrowed her eyes. She then laid her eyes on The Batman himself."You." She knew of his rep so she felt a bit at ease. "If you wanted a meeting, you ould of tried to contact me. Anyway, good to meet you..." She turned around and slipped off her golden tiara."So what do I owe this honor, Batman?"
“Wonder Woman... I need your help...” he said, ignoring her comments about contacting her. Calls could be traced, he wanted his identity to be protected. Besides, in person conversation always held more weight. He was able to show her, not simply tell her what was going on. “I’m sure you’ve heard about Superman’s disappearance... I’ve been following him.” he started, walking a bit closer to her, toward a table. He reached out his fist and unfurled it, placing a glowing red rock on the surface.
She raises her eyebrow and turns around and nodded."I have heard. He's been gone for a few weeks. Supergirl was worried." She looked into his eyes."Please tell me he's not dead. Supergirl's a bit worried and well, it would destroy her." She had this look as if she's ready to hear some horrible news, like in a pre-shock glance.
The glow from the element shone across the room, setting a soft red glow across the apartment. He backed away from it and looked up at her, not directly answering her questions. “This substance is red kryponite, Superman is being effected but it and controlled by a sorcerous named Maleficent.” he explained in his characteristically deep, mysterious voice. “I’ve been following him but I can’t bring him back on my own.” He knew Superman had been the worlds most powerful super-hero which meant only one thing; if he were to turn on them he would be the worlds most powerful villain as well.
She's got this look of relief, for the fact he's alive. She did not want to make Kara cry, however this probably will worry her. Almost immediately after she sighed in relief, she had this look of panic but kept calm."So let me get this straight, an Evil Sorcerous took the worlds most powerful man and converted him?" She put her hand by her tiara, ready to go.
Bruce nodded slowly, steadily. He picked up the red kryptonite and put it back in the compartment of his utility belt. “So I can count on your help?” he asked, watching her hand moving toward the tiara. “And Kara’s?” he asked her raising an eyebrow underneath his mask.
She raises her eyebrow. She had this How-does-he-know look when he mentioned Kara. She slipped on her Tiara."You can...." She picks up her lasso."...and she will I'm sure she will." She puts her lasso on her belt.
Batman flicked a bat-shaped communicator onto the table. It was linked directly to he, Batgirl and Robin’s comms system. He looked up at her. “I’ll be in contact.” he said walking over to the open window. He crouched on the ledge, his cape flowing in the breeze. Tonight wasn’t the night they were to face Superman. He wasn’t ready... but the kryptonite tekkos he was forging would be ready within a day’s time. It was the only way he stood a chance against Clark. He hated having to fight his close friend and hated having to plot against him, having to hurt him.
She watched him put down a communicator and left. She figured that he wasn't ready to fight. Batman was known for his intelligence so she trusts his judgment so she figured this was best. She walked over to the window and notices him gone. She picked up her cell-phone and she texted both Kara and William and gave a simple text message: We need to talk.
