She couldn't help the chuckle that escaped at the look on his face. She really wanted nothing more than to be held right now, but he was right. She needed this. And - moreover she needed to do this alone, time to decompress as it were. She generally did this under running water. She didn't know why but it worked. She stooped down and kissed him gently. "Not this time. Maybe later. I'll be back soon." She moved carefully, not letting go of his hand until the last moment, before going to get a towel.
The water was fine, and it seemed that everything was where it needed to be. Nothing had been moved. They'd need to go over her computer to see just what had been done, what they had, becuase Martha had no doubt that something had been done. Adjusting the temperature, she let the water soothe her muscles, everything just seeming to fall off. There would still be things left but her mind was starting to catch up with it all. She's spend the night with Jack, as many as needed... and then when everything was done, find a new place. Maybe one with a larger living room area. She didn't want to stay here.
After about twenty minutes she turned off the water, hair dripping, and grabbed the towel, drying off before wrapping it around herself and stepping back into the apartment - which was warm for this time of year. It was quiet and she was a bit surprised. "Jack?" She had to wonder where he'd gone...
