Monday
Who: Seth and Riley When: Monday Night Where: The middle of nowhere What: A date
Seth was excited. And, quite possibly, a little bit nervous. Dating wasn't exactly his strong suit. Fucking he was good at, but taking someone out, showing them a good time, wasn't entirely in his comfort zone. Thankfully he had a very romantically inclined daughter who he could turn to for help. After he told her about bumping into Riley again, of course. He wasn't sure who was more excited when he told her, him or her. She'd practically squealed as she threw his arms around his neck and proclaimed how happy she was for him. It was cute, sweet. And it was definitely nice to see her somewhat happy about being in this place. Seth hadn't been at first either, but now that he'd found Riley again, he was so glad they had come. Mara had helped Seth to plan what she said would be the perfect first date. He only hoped that Riley agreed.
After showering, shaving, putting on some nice smelling cologne, and dressing in something that was both comfortable and attractive, Seth headed out. The drive to Riley's house wasn't a long one, of course, since most of the coven's homes were located in the same area. Seth was a few minutes early, he realized, when he pulled up in front of the other man's house. He checked himself in the rear view mirror before moving to climb out of the car, grabbing the rather nontraditional bouquet from the passenger's seat. Taking the steps two at a time, he rang the doorbell and waited.
==========
Riley was good at dating, what he wasn't good at was dating someone he actually cared for. It was easy to flirt and go out on casual dates that you had no real emotional attachment to, but going out with someone who did mean a lot to you was way more nerve wracking than Riley thought it would be.
He had changed his outfit a few times and finally decided on something, simple, clean lines, with no stains or holes...he figured Seth deserved his fancy clothes. Riley checked his hair in the mirror for the fifth time when he heard the doorbell. He hurried down the hallway and swung the door open, grinning at Seth. "Hey."
==========
Seth had been smiling before Riley opened the door, but it seemed to grow that much brighter when Riley appeared. "Hey, handsome," he said in his usual southern drawl, then he pulled the bouquet out from behind his back to present it to him. Instead of flowers, Seth had opted for something a bit more Riley. He'd bought him a candy bouquet with a variety of chocolates and more than its fair share of gummies. And no licorice, of course. He had remembered. "This is for you."
==========
Riley's smile got that much bigger when he saw the candy and laughed. "Aw you remembered my favourite flowers." He said, his own southern drawl a little thicker because of Seth's. Riley leaned in and kissed Seth on the cheek for being so sweet. "I will just put these in the kitchen so that I don't eat them all night long. You can come in for a second if you want." He said before walking down the hall to the kitchen and setting the candy on the counter.
==========
Seth laughed and then replied with a grin, "Always." He accepted the kiss on the cheek, his hand moving to Riley's waist and giving him a soft squeeze as he did so. God, he loved being near him. That was part of the reason why he couldn't stop touching him once he had started. But he had to just now, else they wouldn't even make it on the date he'd spent all afternoon planning. He was almost tempted to stand outside and wait on the other man to come back out, but he followed him instead, door closing behind him. He smirked a little at the counter once they were in the kitchen, recalling what they had done in here the night before. "How are you feeling today," he asked, unable to keep from grinning though there was genuine concern in his voice as well.
==========
Riley's body still reacted the same way to Seth that it always had, but he did his best not to just shove the other man up against the door frame; he was going to behave tonight damn it. Of course when Riley heard the door close he bit his lip, hoping that they would still leave his house, he wanted this date so badly.
When Seth asked him how he was Riley gave him an amused look and shrugged. "I feel fine, damn good actually. We should go before we get distracted." He said teasingly as he squeezed past Seth to go out of the kitchen.
==========
"Good. I'm glad." Seth couldn't get the grin off of his face. He wanted to just pin Riley against the counter again and have him right here and now. But he wanted to go on this date too. He had put a lot of effort into planning it. And it was going to be nice, dammit. Riley deserved something nice and Seth wanted to be the one to give it to him. Of course that didn't stop him from grabbing the other man's hand as he tried to squeeze by him and using it to tug him towards him so that he could press a warm kiss against the younger man's lips. But he didn't let it linger, didn't let it deepen, at least not too long or too much. He pulled away with a small grunt of... well, frustration he supposed, and then smiled. "Now I'm ready to go." He couldn't possibly have waited until the end of the night to do that. That would have been torture.
==========
Riley grinned when Seth pulled him in, he kissed him back and almost purred. "Well now that that's out of the way we should go." He said, pouting slightly when Seth moved away from him. Riley knew it was necessary but he still hated it.
The younger man headed to the door, grabbing his phone and keys before letting Seth go out first so he could lock the door after them. "I like your car." He said with a small grin as he walked over to the car and started to examine her, like any car obsessed male does.
==========
Seth might have moved away from him, but he didn't let go of him. He kept his hand in his as he walked out of the house and back out into the light of day. It felt good to be outside, safer. If they had been inside for, oh, about two more minutes, they never would have made it out. He had to let go of Riley's hand so that he could lock up the house, which meant that he had to let go of him, but even then he kept his hand upon the other man's waist almost as if he were afraid that Riley would disappear if he let him out of his grasp again.
"Thanks," Seth said about the car, reluctantly letting Riley go so that he could open the car door for him. The car was, of course, a restored classic. It was a 1967 Chevelle SS, a shiny black with black leather interior. "Mara and I restored her." His daughter knew more about cars than most men did. Of course now that she was older, she didn't really get into them as much as she used to. After all, she didn't want to chip a nail or get grease all over her clothes. "I had her shipped over from the states. She just got here this morning, actually."
==========
Riley was disappointed and happy at the same time about being outside. He wanted to stay inside with Seth and get naked, however he also wanted to go out and be treated as special and not just as a boy toy for once. He loved how Seth had to keep touching him, it made Riley's skin heat up with excitement.
"Oh yeah? God you guys must be so proud, it's a great care." He got into the car once Seth opened the door and then ran his fingers over the dash. "Probably felt like it took forever to get here huh? I'd be missing a car like this as well. And why am I not surprised your girl can put a car like this together."
==========
"It's nice enough," Seth replied, closing the door once Riley was inside and walking around to the other side to climb in himself. "It took a while," he admitted with a small chuckle. Before then, he had been taking a coach everywhere he needed to go. Or walking. Thankfully New Salem wasn't incredibly large so it wasn't that much of a hardship. Still, he'd missed his beautiful girl. "Because she's my kid," he suggested with a small laugh, turning the key in the ignition and listening to the engine purr.
"She's not as much into it these days though. Too scared she might break a nail." He shook his head with a laugh as he pulled out onto the road. "You haven't seen her in a while. I'll have to show you some pictures." He paused and then added, "Actually, if you wanna get my phone out of my pocket, there's some on there."
==========
Riley smiled at him and shrugged. "It usually does, but always worth it in the end." He said as he watched Seth get into the car. "I've been rebuilding a car here, I don't know if I will ever finish it but it's been a nice distraction, a good way to clear my head after work."
Riley laughed at Seth's statement and nodded. "Yes because she's your kid." He bit his lip and nodded slightly. "Well I'm sure one day that will go away again and she will get filthy." The younger man said with a smile. Riley fished Seth's phone out of his pocket and went into his pictures. "Wow Seth, she is gorgeous. How many beauty pagents was she in?" He teased, Riley grew up in the south, every southern girl had to be in the pagents.
==========
"Well, if you ever need any help, you know who to call," Seth remarked with a smile. He liked working on cars. That was pretty much his thing. Now that he was here, though, he wasn't sure exactly what he was going to be doing with his time. He'd had a business back home, well established, with regular customers. Maybe he'd start over again here. He wasn't really sure yet. It wasn't as if he really needed to work.
"Maybe," Seth replied with a small shrug of his shoulders. If it did, it did, and if it didn't, it didn't. Though he did have to admit that he sort of missed doing those kinds of things with Mara when she was a little girl. God, she had grown up so fast, too fast. He would have been perfectly happy had she stayed a little girl forever. He laughed at the question and grinned over at Riley. "A fair few."
==========
"Well I do now, I kinda had no one to call before." He said with a pretend pout before glancing at Seth's face. He was older sure but the man was so handsome that he had just been improved with age. Riley on the other hand was nervous that Seth wouldn't be as attracted to him because he was so different now. He had been a teenager the last time Seth saw him, that lean body wasn't what he had now. Not that Riley didn't look good, he did...but he wasn't the same.
"Yeah I bet, won some I'm sure. That little girl had some charm in her, wrapped everyone around her finger...daddy included." Riley teased as he flicked through pictures of Mara and Seth, he was feeling rather emotional about it and then decided it was rude to continue to skim his pictures, maybe there was something he wouldn't want to see. Riley closed the phone and set it in one of the cup holders in the console.
==========
"My poor boy," Seth teased, reaching a hand over to squeeze the other man's thigh. "I'm here now," he concluded, leaving his hand resting there on his thigh as he drove. Yes, Riley was older now, but that didn
==========
t mean that Seth didn't still find him attractive. He did. Very much so. Sure, he'd been a good looking kid and Seth had been attracted to him then too, but now he was a man who had only improved with age.
"A fair few," he repeated with a small laugh. "That she does." Mara was spoiled and Seth knew it. At the same time, though, he knew that having him as a farther hadn't been all sunshine and roses. She'd struggled a time or two with the way that her father was, some of the things that he did. They'd fought more than once over his behavior and... Well, sometimes he felt bad about not being able to set a better example for her. He couldn't help the way that he was, though.
"So tell me about your life here," Seth said, turning onto a side road. It wasn't much further now and they would be there. He was feeling nervous again. He really hoped that he liked what he'd planned for the two of them.
==========
Riley didn't mind Seth's hand on his thigh, it could stay there for awhile. "So you are, a place I never thought you'd come back to." He said softly. Riley thought Seth would run forever with his daughter, trying to keep her out of the coven. Not that he would have been successful, the coven had many tricks up their sleeve.
Mara winning pagents didn't surprise him, she had always been a smart, charming, and pretty girl. Riley knew that Seth raising her on his own had been hard on both of them, but he always believed Seth was a good father.
"Oh god...my life...why would you want to know about that?" Riley laughed.
==========
"Hmm," Seth mused. "Neither did I." He glanced over at Riley as he added, "Though I'm glad I did now." This made it worth it. He reached to take the other man's hand and pull it to his lips, pressing a warm kiss against his knuckles before laying them both down on the seat, holding his hand now instead of his resting on his thigh.
"So I know if there's anyone I need to track down and cast a curse on," Seth teased, glancing over at him with a grin. "Because I care about you. I want to know... What you do, where you spend your time, who you are as a grown up." He made another turn, this one onto a dirt road. It was a good thing Riley trusted him else he might be a bit concerned about the fact that they were obviously heading a fair bit away from civilization.
==========
As Riley smiled he could feel his cheeks getting warm, and he was glad for the darkness in the car, he didn't want Seth to know how easy it was for him to get under his skin this quickly.
"Trust me, I cursed them already." He said with a smirk and then sighed. "Well I went to Harvard, enjoyed college far too much, the coven paid for everything of course. I was never with anyone for too long after you left because I honestly didn't want to be distracted like that again, or hurt I don't know."
Riley raised an eyebrow as they turned onto the dirt road but said nothing, he did trust Seth.
==========
Seth watched the road as he listened to Riley speak. Hearing about his college years was nice but... That last part. "I'm sorry that I hurt you," he said softly, then glanced over at the other man as he added, "I promise I'll try my best not do it again." He meant that. Of course he always meant it when he made promises like that though it rarely worked out that way. Seth wasn't really wired for commitment. He wasn't entirely sure why. He could guess, and he might be right, but he wasn't the type to try and blame his own neuroses on something someone else had done to him years ago. He didn't want to be that kind of person.
Finally Seth pulled off of the road and into a little cove of trees. "We're here," he said with a smile, kissing Riley's knuckles once more before he killed the ignition and climbed out of the car. He walked around quickly to open the door for the other man, waiting for him to climb out before he took his hand and headed around to pop the trunk. From it he procured a picnic basket. Everything else he needed was already in place. He smiled over at him, both excited and nervous and it showed. He then started to lead the way through a path in the trees.
"I was going to take you on a traditional date. You know, dinner and a movie, but then I decided that I wanted to do something just a little bit different." He glanced over at him and added, "I hope you'll like it." He was worried that he wouldn't, that he would think he had set this whole thing up because he didn't want to be seen in the general populace with him. But that wasn't the case. He just didn't want to have to share his attention.
So they would have dinner and a movie but not in the regular way. Instead, he had packed their dinner, which was in the picnic basket, and he had found a nice secluded place with a large barn that was perfect for hanging a sheet from in order to project the film. This was all set up already, the sheet, the projector and audio speakers, which were charmed to work without electricity, and a large inflatable pool sat right where they'd have the perfect spot to view the film from. That part was Mara's idea. She'd seen it on Pinterest or something. It was filled with blankets and pillows to make sure that they could be comfy and not have to worry about bugs or getting poked by grass. And twinkling all around them were faerie lights. Not literal faerie lights, but a charm that was cast to make it appear as though they were surrounded by little floating points of light.
==========
Riley smiled but shook his head. "No Seth it's...I mean okay it wasn't okay but you had to. I was too young and we would have destroyed everything we had. For me it was tragic and the worst thing in the world but it was necessary. I grew I moved on, well I thought I did." He said with a laugh and then sighed. "Don't make me promises, just be who you are and well...i don't know, love me." He softly before biting his lip. Riley had his own neroses stuff he thought Seth suspected but he never told him.
The younger man looked at him suspiciously but got out of the car and followed Seth into the woods. Seth was so excited so it was making Riley excited and when he walked into the clearing, Riley was speachless...well almost. "Oh...wow...Seth this...wow." Riley said with a laugh before turning to look at him, it showing on his face how much this effected him. Riley placed a hand on either side of Seth's face and kissed him softly, but with great emotion. "Thank you for doing this." He whispered against the other man's lips before pulling away and walking towards the pool.
==========
"That sounds easy enough," Seth replied with a shy smile. God, what was it about this kid? And yes, he was still a kid by comparison. Seth had grown up with his father, his uncle... He'd known him since he was a child. And yet that didn't even cross his mind when it came to becoming intimately involved with him. There had been nothing weird about it for him. It was just something that had happened, something he couldn't help. And he wouldn't change it. If things hadn't gone the way they had back then they wouldn't be here right now.
Seth exhaled a sigh of relief when Riley clearly liked what he had done. "You like it," he asked, though it was clear that he did. And if the words and expression hadn't told him, the kiss certainly did. "You're worth it," he said simply, then allowed Riley to lead them both over to the pool.
Seth kicked his shoes off before he stepped into the little cocoon so as not to track grass into it. He sat down cross-legged, the picnic basket in front of him which he opened and started to unpack. "So food before the movie or during?" It wasn't a new film, it was one they had both seen before, many many times. One of Riley's favorites. He could only hope it still was. As for dinner, he'd brought a very southern meal. Fried chicken, potato salad, mac and cheese, green beans... And he'd brought plenty of handiwipes so they could clean up messy fingers afterward. As for drinks, a little hard lemonade.
==========
"Of course I like it." He said with a laugh and shook his head at Seth's statement, he always had a hard time believing he was worth anything. But with Seth it was a little easier.
Riley kicked off his shoes and happily sat in the cocoon. "I think we should eat and talk, I mean I suppose we have a lot to catch up on...plus I'm hungry." He said with a smile, his stomach growling when he saw the food. "Wait...you didn't cook it did you?" He asked with a smirk on his face, as he reached for a lemonade.
==========
"Eat and talk. Works for me." Seth smiled. He'd rather cuddle up with the other man and watch the movie that way anyway. "Glad you brought your appetite," he remarked with a grin that implied the double meaning behind those words. Laughing, Seth shook his head. "Hell no. I don't want us both to die from food poisoning." He pulled a bit of a face. "I had some help." Help meaning that his cook had prepared it but he had supervised and taste tested and the like to make sure it really tasted like it was supposed to.
"So tell me about these curses," Seth said as he opened up all the individual containers and placed serving spoons inside. He had plates, silverware, everything they would need. And for dessert? Banana pudding, of course. You couldn't do a southern picnic without some banana pudding. There was also cole slaw and some biscuits. Yep, he'd gone full out. There was enough here for a whole slew of people to eat. Thankfully Riley could eat for three people. Or at least he could when he was younger.
==========
Riley smiled at him and shook his head, he knew that there was a double meaning there. "Well good, I'm glad to hear it." Riley said with a smirk, Seth was not a good cook and had proved that a few times over when Riley was young. Often Riley had made supper for The Kleins and himself when he was over.
"Oh you know just the regular sort, impotence, rashes in embarassing places, multiple children...guys stopped cheating on me for whatever reason." He said with a grin before he licked a little grease off his lip.
==========
Yes, yes, Seth knew his skills in the kitchen were lacking. At least when it came to cooking. He had proven he had other kitchen skills the night before. That thought made a smile tug at the corners of his lips. Yep, he wanted to do that again. Right here, right now. But he had some self control and he planned on exerting it. Within reason, of course.
"Oh shit," Seth said with a laugh. "I better not get on your bad side." Of course witches had a hard time cursing other witches because they could always reverse it and revert it back to the one who cast it. Still, it wouldn't be a bad idea to be on his best behavior.
"I've been.... trying to behave myself for the last little while. Mara had a friend and..." He shook his head a bit. "Anyway, it was a mess. I didn't know that she liked him but he wasn't into girls and you can guess the rest." He licked a bit of cheese from the mac and cheese off of his thumb as he concluded, "We had a pretty rough patch there for a while so I decided to try and cool it for a bit." Actually, before he'd slept with Riley, he'd been celibate for several months. It had been a record.
==========
"That's right, you better not." He said with a grin. Riley did not curse other witches, it was stupid to try because if they had any skill they could turn it back on you in a second. However curses were not the only reason Seth should be a good boyfriend.
Riley winced when Seth said Mara had a friend, he knew where this was going. "Yep I can." He said with a nod of his head, grabbing some of the mac and cheese for himself. "She was probably really angry at you, and I don't blame her." Riley said with a laugh and then sighed. "So you've been a good boy huh?" Riley asked as he leaned forward and licked some cheese from Seth's bottom lip.
==========
"I know, I know but... I didn't know." It wasn't like this one was the first of her friends he had gotten intimate with. There were a few others. Of course those had all been girlfriends, not boyfriends. And not boys she had been interested in. If she had just told him, he would have never gone there. But he had and.. Well he'd felt bad about it ever since. That's why he had decided to turn over a new leaf. No more random hookups. And so far, so good. "For almost six months," Seth replied, a smirk forming upon his lips as he added, "Until yesterday." He nipped at Riley's lips before he could pull away and then groaned. "No more of that. You're distracting me. I want to actually get through this date without... you know." He tore into his chicken leg then, just to have something to do with his mouth aside from put it all over Riley's sexy body.
==========
Riley knew Seth wouldn't have done it intentionally, he wouldn't hurt his daughter like that. The guy never really had any control over his dick before so Riley was proud of him. "Wow six months that's great." He said seriously, Riley knew that was an accomplishment for Seth. The younger man blushed a little and then shrugged. "Well you know, who could fault you." He bit his lip and nodded. "Yep I know, I will behave myself." He said as he took a bite of a buscuit, groaning at how good it was.
==========
"I know, right? I'd have to be superhuman to say no to all that," he gestured towards Riley and then grinned. "Besides, I knew she wouldn't mind that it was you. She was actually pretty excited when I told her. Not that I go telling my daughter about my sexcapades." He held up a hand in defense. "She knew." He shook his head. "Girl can read me like a book. I tried to deny it but... she got it out of me." And yes, she had been ecstatic. "Thank you," Seth replied, then arched a brow slightly as he added, "Just not... all night." He grinned cheekily.
==========
Riley stuck his tongue out at him when he said that and then rolled his eyes. "Aw she likes me." He laughed and then shook his head. "Oh god no never!" Riley said with wide eyes and then smiled wide at him. "Yeah I kinda figured she knew within minutes." He said and then chuckled under his breath. "Oh I dont think I'm able to promise self control during the movie I know how much you like to cuddle and I'm gonna wanna touch." He said with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
==========
"She doesn't like you," Seth informed him. "She loves you. She always did." Of course back when she was younger, she didn't realize how odd it was that her father was fooling around with someone who was almost young enough to be his son. She knew that now, of course, and yet she didn't really mind. Age was just a number, after all. "Minutes, hell. Girl knew it before I even walked in the front door. She was waiting up for me. Like she's the parent and I'm the child." He laughed and shook his head. Seth grinned and then admitted, "I picked a movie we've both seen before. Dozens of times. That way, you know, if things get heated...." They wouldn't be missing anything.
==========
"I'm glad, I liked her a lot, she was so adorable." He said with a smile and then laughed when Seth told him she was waiting for him. "Aw she's just showing her concern for you." Riley said as he covered his mouth for a second because he was still laughing a bit. "OH well it's good you planned ahead with that one." He teased as he finished up his plate and took a long sip of the lemonade.
==========
"Still is," Seth corrected him with a proud papa smile. He laughed and shook his head softly. "She just wanted something she could use against me later." Of course that wasn't to say that she didn't have concern for him. Of course she did. But she would use this in her favor eventually. He knew her too well to think otherwise.
"Yep. That's me. Always thinking with my head." Seth tried to keep a straight face and then laughed, finishing up the rest of his food and wiping his hands off before working to put the food away. There was still plenty left but they might feel inclined to eat more later. He then sat the basket out of their little nest so that it was just the two of them again.
"Ready for the movie? It's one of your favorites." He smiled, hopeful that he would still be into it after all these years.
==========
"Of course, my mistake." Riley said seriously and then smirked when Seth said she was looking for ammo. "Yes but which head?" Riley asked with purely innocent expression before he started to chuckle. It had never been this easy with anyone else, Riley always knew that the relationship was doomed because he would compare it to moments like this with Seth and if it wasn't fun and gave him that feeling in his gut that he had with Seth...he knew it wouldn't last.
"I'm excited to see what movie it is." He said as he lay back in the nest and leaned against Seth's side.
==========
"Oh, you know which one." Seth laughed. It was funny because it was true. He was always thinking with his dick. For better or for worse. And no, it was never this easy with anyone else. There was just something there, something that existed between them since.... Well, since the first time he'd spent any time alone with the younger, but old enough to bone, Riley Quinn. He couldn't put it into words and he couldn't fake it with someone else. He'd tried a few times over the years but had always failed.
Seth grinned and then settled back in the cocoon, allowing Riley to nestle in beside him. He draped one arm over the younger man's shoulders and then snapped his fingers on the other hand. The faerie lights dimmed and the projector came to life followed by the familiar sound of a lion's roar. The screen sprang to action in black and white, focused on a young farm girl in rural Kansas. Yes, out of all the movies in the world, he had picked The Wizard of Oz.
==========
OH yes, Riley knew which one, Seth rarely thought with the head on his shoulders often.
He watched the screen and smiled when the Wizard of Oz started, it was still one of his favourite movies, no matter how gay that made him sound. A rural kid escaping it all in a place full of magic...yep Riley was down for that. "I still love it." He whispered against Seth's ear, letting his head rest on his shoulder.
==========
Seth smiled at that assurance. "Good. I thought maybe you were a little too grown up for it now." He wasn't a teenager anymore, afterall. And they weren't watching this with a little Mara either. It was two grown men, in the middle of nowhere, watching the Wizard of Oz together in a kiddie pool filled with blankets and pillows. Speaking of blankets, Seth grabbed one of them and pulled it up over the two of them, settling in beside him. He was quiet for a moment, simply watching the film before he realized - "I should have brought popcorn." He wasn't actually hungry, of course, but a movie and popcorn went together like peanut butter and jelly. "Damn," he mumbled under his breath. "Next time." Yep, he was already certain there would be a second date.
==========
"Nah I don't think I ever will be." He murmured as he breathed in, enjoying the scent of Seth mixed with fresh air. Riley hummed happily as the blanket came over them, he leaned up and nipped at Seth's earlobe. "It's fine, I couldn't eat it right now. Next time junkfood and finger foods." He said softly as his hand slid over Seth's stomach and up under his shirt to touch his warm skin. Riley wasn't trying to have sex in that moment, he was just trying to be as close to Seth as he could, skin to skin contact to let their energy roll over each other. Riley was as happy and content as he ever could be.
==========
"I hope not," Seth replied softly. "I love your... idealism. Always have."That was the only word he could find to describe what he meant. Riley was one of the few people in the world who could pull off being... innocent even when he was on his knees with a dick in his mouth. It was incredibly endearing. And sexy. Fuck, it was sexy. "Mm, sounds perfect. And my favorite film." He remarked with a smirk. "That way you can jump and bury your face against me and I can protect you from the big bad." He laughed softly. He didn't even know if Riley reacted that way to horror films anymore, but he kind of hoped so. He hummed a little as Riley's hand slid up his shirt, his muscles tensing. He turned his head and nuzzled his face against his hair, inhaling the scent of him before pressing a kiss against his head. His gaze shifted back to the makeshift screen once more and he remarked, "This is my favorite part." It was when she emerged from the house and everything was in color.
==========
Riley looked at Seth in the dark, his face highlighted by the screen and fairy lights and he felt himself fall all over again. He knew he was all in, and he hoped to god Seth was too. "It was all I had." He said softly as his hand started to rub in little circles on Seth's stomach. "So I held onto it." Riley smiled and nodded. "Yes, although I'm sure it will terrify me, sometimes I'm good, other times it gets to me." He said softly.
He looked up when Seth said it was his favourite part and he smiled wide. "I love it." He murmured, of course Riley would love any movie in this moment, because that wasn't exactly where his concentration was.
==========
"Never lose it," Seth said in a soft voice. "It's too much a part of you." He brushed a finger against his thumb and then leaned down to press a soft, warm kiss against his lips. Yes, he was all in. He was completely smitten. Granted, they were still getting to know one another as the people they were now, but he couldn't imagine that there was anything about this man that he wouldn't be completely and utterly infatuated with. "That's the point, darlin'," Seth said in that sexy southern drawl of his.
"Reminds me of when I first left here." Getting away from the coven was like seeing the world in color for the first time around. He could do whatever he wanted, be whatever he wanted, without anyone judging him. And yet, like Dorothy, life had led him back to that gray place, back to "Kansas". And like Dorothy, it seemed like everything he wanted was right here in the last place he would have expected. With that thought, his gaze shifted down to Riley who was looking up at him. He laughed and then chided him gently, "You're not watching the movie."
==========
Riley had warm cheeks because of that statement and he nuzzled against Seth's neck for a moment, tilting his head back to accept the kiss he knew was coming.
They already knew the basics of each other, how they grew and changed was what they needed to know now and like Seth, Riley was pretty sure nothing could change how he felt about the older man. Riley laughed and sighed. "I love hearing your voice, it's like home...I'm so over the british ones." He chuckled.
"It reminds me of when I left my father's house for good...left my uncle far behind me." Riley said softly, thinking back to how it felt like he was driving his car into the sunrise, like all the colours were exploding as he headed for college. When Seth looked at him and lightly scolded him for not watching the movie, Riley shrugged. "I've seen this a million times, I haven't gotten to study your face in a long time." He said before kissing Seth firmly, fingers sliding up into the other man's hair.
==========
"Welsh, darlin'," Seth corrected him. Of course they all pretty much sounded the same. Don't let a Welsh person hear you say that though. They got really offended for whatever reason. Of course their people weren't really from Wales. They'd come here generations ago when New Salem was founded. From England, in fact, so a lot of the people actually were British. Potatoe, potato.
That was enough to make him frown. He knew Riley had had.... a difficult childhood and young adulthood. His father had changed when his wife died. That was part of how they ended up together in the first place. Seth had hired Riley to babysit his daughter mostly just so the boy had some place he could go other than his house. He never really talked about what had happened to him, what went on inside his home, but Seth got a feeling about it. There had even been a time when he and Riley's uncle had gotten into it at a bar. He hadn't told the man why he was so angry at him, of course, but he had gotten a fair few punches in which had made him feel better. Still, he'd always wished there was more than he could have done. But he'd done all that he could when he'd let Riley go, knowing that he needed to feel free to leave or else he may have never gotten away from all of that.
"You have a valid point," Seth replied in a soft voice, then slid down a bit into their little nest, accepting the kiss with a soft groan, both arms wrapping around the younger man to pull him closer to him, as if he could much closer, and hold onto him tightly.
==========
"Ah yes sorry, I get corrected on that often." He said with a smirk, proving Riley knew the difference and that he just liked to irritate people sometimes.
Riley never talked about what happened in his house because he found it humiliating to be a victim like that, he didn't want people to know that he had been so disgusting. His uncle had hated that Riley was going to Seth's home, raging constantly at Riley's father for letting him go. But as usual Ethan hadn't cared much one way or the other but always insisted that Riley was allowed to go babysit. If Seth hadn't dumped him, would Riley have left, maybe not but it was just another reason why it had been the right decision.
"I don't know about you but...I haven't been this happy in awhile." Riley whispered against Seth's lips as he slid his arms back down and hooked them around Seth's waist.
==========
"Me neither," Seth replied in a whisper of his own. He allowed his hands to stroke softly up and down the other man's back, staring down at him like he was some sort of rare gem that he had managed to unearth with his bare hands. "You are so damn beautiful," he said after a moment, a hand moving up to touch his face, to brush his thumb over his lower lip. His face had changed some, of course. He had stronger lines now than before, less of a baby face than when he was younger, but he was damn handsome. The cut of his jaw was gorgeous, the little bit of stubble there, and of course those eyes and those thick, dark lashes. And lips. Fuck, he loved those lips.
"I know you have to... do what you gotta do for the coven but..." He inhaled a deep breath and exhaled softly. "You make me want to be selfish, keep you all to myself." He'd only just gotten him back in his life. He didn't want to share him with some woman and some baby, though it was probably a while before they'd have to really think about that. Still, it was on his mind.
==========
Riley rolled his eyes when Seth called him beautiful and then stuck out his tongue at him. "Whatever." Riley didn't know how to handle the look in Seth's eyes anymore, he didn't think he was ugly by any means, but he wasn't that pretty twinky teenager anymore either. Riley knew the difference. However he also knew Seth wasn't lying, and maybe he really was enamoured of the older version of Riley Quinn. "You barely look like you aged a day you know. Bastard." Riley teased him.
Riley bit his lip and stroked a hand through Seth's hair. "I made them promise me that I didn't have to try to have a relationship with her if I didn't want. I'd prefer a mother that wasn't involved, and there are plenty of women in the coven that don't want to be." Riley smiled slightly and then shrugged. "I wanted to raise the baby on my own, but...if there's you..." He let the words trail off before speaking again. "Besides it's not for a while, years." He said softly.
==========
"That's because I haven't. I'm too vain to age." Seth laughed softly. Of course, as a witch, he didn't age the same as a human would have. Chances were he really was almost the same now as he had been back then. Things slowed once you reached a certain level of maturity.
That... came as a bit of surprise to him. "You'd want to raise a baby with me?" The idea of having another child hadn't really crossed his mind. And he wasn't going to have another one, not technically anyway. He gave the coven a daughter and that was all he was required to do. They would have liked another son, perhaps, to continue to perpetuate the line once he was gone, but they would settle for just a girl. After all, there were other sons.
==========
Riley laughed and then shook his head. He knew that he wasn't aging right now either, but it was still weird that Seth looked the same. Of course Riley always thought it was weird that his father and uncle looked like they were just his older brothers too.
The younger man flushed wickedly and shrugged slightly. "Yeah I mean if everything went well and we wanted to...I...yes I would want to." Riley said softly, worried how Seth would react to that. "I mean if we were lucky it would be a girl first try and I wouldn't have to do it again." All male coven members had to have one child, if it was a girl they did not have to have another, but if they had a boy, one more try was required.
==========
Seth wasn't reacting badly to it or anything, he just wasn't sure how to react to it. On the one hand, he had adored being Mara's daddy when she was little. On the other hand, that had been a long, hard road. But to do it again with someone else, someone he cared about... "I wouldn't be opposed to the idea," he decided. "Though Mara might not like it." She'd be jealous, for sure. But that was still a ways off, nothing they had to figure out today. "But - can I just have you to myself for a while," he asked, a small pout forming upon his lips. "You know, just for... oh, ever?"
==========
Riley figured Mara would probably be jealous, but she would come around eventually. "I'm glad you wouldn't be opposed, but yeah Seth it's years away." He said softly as he leaned up and kissed that pout on Seth's mouth before nipping at his bottom lip. "You've got me to yourself for a while, I mean you know...if that's what you want?" Riley asked with wide eyes, teasing Seth just a little bit.
==========
"Mmm," Seth hummed in response to that kiss. "That's what I want." He nuzzled his face against the other man's neck. "You're what I want," he specified as he then pressed a few soft, warm kisses against the other man's neck. "Today," he added, kissing the line of his jaw. "Tomorrow." Up to his lips once more. "Six months from now." He pulled back to look at him as he added, "I'd say forever but... I don't wanna move too fast and scare you away."
