Who: Dionysus and Ariadne What: Back on Naxos, Dionysus still tries to win over the beautiful Ariadne with a broken heart, so he gives her stars (playing with Ovid's passage of her crying afraid that Dion will be as heartless as Theseus even after taking her as his wife.) Where: Naxos Beach When: Old Greek days (yes I'm too tired to come up with a specific date) Warnings: Fluff
Dionysus had finally bed this beautiful golden creature. Her heart still burned from the scars of a mortal hero, a spawn of Poseidon. He'd won her with his soft advances and gentle touch. He'd dried her tears and held her tightly against his soft chest. Those ruddy lips had given her promises of a love unlike that of the world, she would have a kingdom with him at her side.
Yet, on this night as she had slipped out of bed he found her sitting by the ocean side, tears streaking her face under the cast moonlight. She spoke softly as if not for him to hear. Out of all his maenads, they were exotic beauties with dark hair and warm skin. Ariadne stood out among them with her pale skin and golden features. He stayed at a distance watching with a sorrow filled heart as that unsure heart started to bleed and ask questions toward her husband to be. Dionysus had proved with words that he would love her unconditionally, but was it enough?

[info]mostholy 2011-11-24 03:07 am (local) (link) Track This Everything was still so odd, so strange. Her heart had only just recovered from Theseus and she could see Dionysus cared for her. But he was of the Gods, and she but a simple mortal girl. She had heard of only one mortal to have married a God before, and Psyche had to endure long trials.
She worried she would need to go through that, that when her beauty faded he would regret his choice and leave her behind. Gods were so fickle, so easy to leave mortals behind and toy with them as they liked.
She had no idea if he would be the same, if she would be left again. He was sweet and kind, but for how long?

"What troubles you so, my beautiful star?" He'd promised her his hand, even Aphrodite herself would attend this union. It would be the most beautiful match, but he could not help the sadness that surrounded him at seeing Ariadne's tears.

[info]mostholy 2011-11-24 06:39 pm (local) (link) Track This She looked up at him as she smelled him and felt his touch on her skin. He could kill her so easily. She should be happy though. For as long as she lived, or until he lost interest, she would be his wife.
"Just the fears of a mortal girl my lord." She hadn't stopped respecting him now she shared his bed. She'd heard too many tales to be anything but respectful. "Because I am but mortal. I fear your interest will wane as I grow older."

[info]dipsomaniac 2011-11-24 09:49 pm (local) (link) Track This He indexed her shoulders softly, his lips just a breath hovering against her skin. "No woman holds your face, has that same light in her eyes," he gently massaged his hands through her hair, pressing softly in a circular motion against her temples.
"You dwell on mortal worries, you will enter the heavens with me," he kissed away each gentle tear. "You have shared my bed, and you will share my name."

[info]mostholy 2011-11-24 09:58 pm (local) (link) Track This She frowned and looked up at him, "My Lord I am but mortal. Mortals cannot walk upon Olympus. I have no claim on immortal blood, save that my mother claimed to be birthed of Helios." The daughters of Pasiphae were fair and all shared their mother's golden locks but so many claimed divine parentage. Even her father did. She assumed most of it was for political reasons. She'd never denied it, but she hadn't seen proof of it either.
She sighed, "your words are kind and sweet, but I am mortal and know only that the Gods see mortals as a passing thing. Most tales have us nothing but a fancy, or a lesson to be learned."

[info]dipsomaniac 2011-11-24 10:22 pm (local) (link) Track This He pulled back her hair, marking her face with his fingers. "With me dearest, beautiful Ariadne you will be immortal with me. When you leave this world of your mortal body, you will be beside me." He made that promise truthfully, no trick or honeyed words as he did love her so dearly.
Dionysus gave her a smile, standing now, pulling her up with him. "Look to the sky my love." There placed within Eos' dark cloak of night was a crown of stars.

[info]mostholy 2011-11-24 11:14 pm (local) (link) Track This She frowned to that, not truly understanding. "Am I to die then, My Lord?" She didn't want to die, not truly. She was still young. Her life felt so unfinished.
She took his hands and rose beside him, looking up to the sky with a frown. She'd been taught the constellations as a young girl and there were news stars she had never seen before. "What am I looking at?"

He pushed a curl of hair from her face, thumbs brushing over her brow. "You are not to die now, it isn't your time. But I shall forever want you at my side." He would take her back from Hades if he had to.
"That is your crown, your crown of stars." He kissed her cheek, "My gift to you."

[info]mostholy 2011-11-25 11:27 pm (local) (link) Track This "OH," she was stunned by this display. How could she not be? As a daughter of a King she'd had suitors and gifts before but this. This was eternal. Smiling she looked up to him. "You are far to kind for me. I do not know what I did to gain your affection." Greatly daring she set her fingers on his cheek. "I care for you My Lord, and I beg your patience with me. It will not be hard to love you."

He nuzzled her nose with his, his ruddy lips gently stroking her lips. "You are worth it, beautiful. My heart was yours the moment I laid eyes on you. My time is yours."
