"No thank you to that," Marian said with a shake of her head. "But he doesn't need to be 'taken care of either'. We just don't see eye to eye and I've been told I'm being too stubborn about it." She shrugged. Marian wasn't going to stop being stubborn. It was in her nature to set her feet and not move.
Marian drained the last of her beer before standing up and grabbed her jacket off the back of her seat. Oh, there was the alcohol now that she was standing. Not enough to make her swoon, but she could certainly tell she'd been drinking.
"Come on," she told Guy, feeling so odd about this whole situation but feeling odder that it... soft of felt fine? "Let's blow this Popsicle stand."
