Indeed, it had been a long night and the day had seemed to drag on forever. The only people she had seen before their vows had been her servants. She had been adorned in such extravagant jewels and clothing she looked like a Queen. It made her shine, quite literally. But it made her uncomfortable, because she wasn't used to this much extravagance. Princess or not, Helen had been used to being much more subtle in her appearance.
She sat next to Menelaus, glancing at the dancers then to him and around at the guests who were sitting and watching everyone else. It was quite the celebration. She looked over to him when he took her hand, smiling when he kissed it. These celebrations tended to last into the late hours of the night, so she expected they would be there for a long time.
