... Okay Armaan had a point, with the whole shock thing. He did. He still didn't need to jump straight to the unfair conclusion that she was in the same shitty category as Avery's parents, but he did just walk in on them. Was he really Avery's best friend? Cuz if so, she should be making more of an effort, or like, he was never gonna make one with Rosario.
And maybe, probably he was like Rosario and Jocelyn and just didn't get that sometimes, if you were lucky, this crazy old world worked out for you, and she was lucky, and never felt luckier than she did right now with Avery's arms looped round her as he called her his wife. Okay so, she had to be patient with people who didn't get that.
Patience didn't come super naturally to Lyra but like, she was an adult, and sometimes you just had to be the mature one about stuff.
"I am serious bout this," she reassured Armaan like a mature adult. "Impulsive ain't necessarily bad, everyone thinks it is, but it ain't. I get you don't know me, but, Aves is right, we get each other," she turned back to Avery, and gave him a soft, private smile. "And sometimes you just know, y'know?"
