Lyra's head shot up at that suggestion, her face lighting up like Rosario'd lit a match. "Yes! Yes, oh my god yes," she exclaimed, and then quite suddenly burst into tears. It surprised her so much, and she was already laughing and wiping at her cheeks while the tears were still trying to shake outta her. The enormous sleeves were hella absorbant. "Do you really mean it? I would love that, so much," she said, and the sound that came outta her really was more laugh that sob. It felt like emotional fireworks were fully going off inside her.
Rosario not only accepting it but offering to celebrate it was more than she expected and, god, what a horrible thing to expect, in hindsight? Rosario would be so hurt if she knew Lyra had come up here in dread. Rosario was on her side; always when it came to the big stuff, Rosario was on her side. "Omigod," she blurted, giddy in the rush of relief. "I could afford to hire a limo! No, no, I won't, I won't, I'll be good," she managed to calm herself a little, but she was still grinning wildly at Rosario.
