It sounded a lot crazy spontaneous, but then, Rosario was the one who looked— Lyra just took the leap. And she had it bad for Avery, and they were fresh off defeating his evil Republican family together and absconding in the middle of the night and then riding a possibly-literally-miraculous winning streak at the casino, and of course, of course Lyra was gonna cap the whole wild adventure with a Vegas wedding, that was just... so damn Lyra of her. Get married first, ask questions later.
It wasn't that her reasons were bad. They were all real solid reasons— to date a person. Lyra and Avery had only hit official-relationship territory a couple weeks ago. They'd never even lived together! They didn't know if they were long-term compatible, and yeah, a spur-of-the-moment wedding sounded sexy, but what happened if it turned out things didn't gel? What if by the time they figured it out they had shared assets and debts and kids and a whole lotta vitriol? Gahhhh, just thinking about it all was enough to stress Rosario out.
"Well," she bit her lip. "That's good. If you're happy. And he's treating you right."
