Addy joined them, and she put a hand gently on Henry's back. "We have you, Henners. You're safe."
Henry didn't exactly feel like he could stop clinging, but he was in the water, which is way more than he would have thought he could do. He let out a shaky breath and opened his eyes so he could see where he was. The water was only up to their hips. "I need a second here. Then maybe we can go deeper," he whispered. "Just keep reminding me I can breathe. I'm not drowning. I coughed up so much water."
"Did you uh...puke some of it too?" Addy asked, since she could relate.
"Yeah," Henry admitted, and even though they were talking about awful things, the fact that he wasn't alone made Henry release his death-grip on Iestyn a little, so he could look at Addy. "It was awful. There wasn't anything else in my stomach so it was just water."
"Yep," Addy confirmed. "But right now your stomach is full of gingerbread because I saw you demolish an entire ginger family."
Henry actually laughed a little at that. "They were delicious."
