Avery may have shaken his head but it wasn't in true denial, and Apollo smiled smugly to himself as he felt the curse start to settle into its new shape. It had been a long time since Apollo had stretched these particular curse-musles, but from what Apollo knew of Avery from Xander (a different version of Avery than the impression he got from Topher) he had a long history of not being believed anyway, so the curse at least had an easy, well trodden path to follow.
Didn't mean he didn't feel the strain of it, though, but there was no way Apollo was going to let the effort show. Not like Avery was letting how much he wanted his phone show. Amateur.
Apollo sidestepped, plucking Avery's phone from the table and passing it over with a helpful smile. "Yeah, you let me know how that goes," he said, giving Avery a clap on his shoulder, before turning to head back toward the door.
