Having Henry very close to back to normal was making a huge difference to the daily life of the family. Tinsel was back at work, although she did her best to finish early when she could, and Merry was much happier, her bright face making Nick smile every time he saw it. Maria liked to spend more time in Henry's apartment than her own, which meant that her loyal shadow Misty came too. Nick had spotted Tinsel trying to talk to Misty, offering her a drink when she'd come in late one night. It was nice she was making the effort to try and make the elf feel at home. Nick meanwhile was on the phone a little more often, keeping up with the LA and Chicago offices, and the smaller ones in between. Now that it was November 1st, things were really starting to heat up.
When Henry called him up, he went with curiosity, and Marie followed along too with a hot (warm) chocolate for Henry to sip. At Nick's look, she gave him one back, daring him to stop her.
"Hello, son," Nick said, nodding to Henry and settling himself in the small armchair that sat near the bed. Maria set the chocolate down on the nightstand, and bent over to kiss Henry's forehead.
"There. To give you some energy. No whipped cream though, don't want to overdo it, doctor's orders." Her tone betrayed that maybe she disagreed, but was obeying under protest.
