Lyra had an argument or two against the laws of physics, sure enough. Laws of physics hadn't stopped her getting pulled through a door by creatures who didn't give a shit about the way time was supposed to flow. Talk about making her skin crawl. Right this second, the only part of her that didn't feel like it had warning goosebumps was where her leg was touching Avery's. She woulda reached out and maybe taken his hand as well, only she thought about how Rosario would see it, like some declaration that she was taking Avery's side completely and not listening to Rosario, which wasn't true.
Her anti-laws-of-physics points weren't arguments she could bring out now, anyway. Not with Rosario already looking a little cornered. They definitely had to be alone, for that conversation.
"We did find some fuckshit," Lyra said, sorta trying to ease the conversation back a little toward the mundane, though she wasn't sure that word could apply to anything Goldenhawk related. "We found a secret second phone in a locked drawer. Suss as fuck."
