Rosario felt totally blindsided. Avery was sitting across from her looking all condescending, hands spread wide as though we saw Archer push the bone back in explained everything as opposed to raising a couple dozen more questions, chief among them, and exactly how many drinks in were you by this point? She wouldn't've had any problem telling him point-blank that he was crackers, except that Lyra was sitting in between them, nodding real earnestly, eyes wide and serious. Calling him crazy meant calling her best friend crazy, and Lyra wasn't. She just... got carried away sometimes. Swept up in the adventure. Especially when she had someone like Avery egging her on.
Rosario waited for the waitress to leave, before saying reasonably, "Archer's room's on the second floor, right? And it was dark. So it coulda just looked like a bone from where you guys were. Nosebleeds can be real brutal."
