Merry had been slumped a little in her chair, close to dozing off, but the sound of Henry's voice, quiet and rasping as it was, jolted her into wakefulness like a shot of caffeine. "Henry!" she gasped, her face lighting up. "Ohmigosh! Oh— water, water coming right up!" She stood in such a hurry that the legs of the chair squealed against the floor, and she made for the bedside table, where a jug of water sat with a couple of plastic cups. She filled one of them and brought it back to Henry. "I'm so happy you're awake!"
