The hours stretched on and Henry did not wake. Addy wondered if this awful miasma of dread was how her family and friends had felt when she had refused to wake up after her rescue too. It was awful and terrifying and Addy kept silently praying he would just wake up.
No one wanted Henry to wake up alone, so they worked out a schedule. Two people could be with him at all times, so if someone needed a toilet break or something, there was still one person around. Addy had relieved Iestyn, though it had taken some amount of work to get him to leave Henry's side. And she was glad when Merry walked in too, to relieve Tinsel. Addy adored Merry and she sort of thought it might do Merry some good to talk to a friend who had been through all this.
Once Iestyn and Tinsel had left, Addy glanced over the bed at Merry. "How you holding up?"
