Lyra wrinkled her nose at him playing with her hair, enjoying the smile he was giving her. He looked way more chill, now, and for a moment she just smiled back up at him till his words filtered through.
"Um," Lyra smiled in a blank state of panic, because she had nothing. Not one single bit of inside knowledge, except, "Xander's offering Savannah rebound sex and we talked her out of taking it." Wow, pathetic. They really needed to get stuck into the search. Everyone was surrounding the battle on the lawn, would it look weird, now, if they went back inside? Or maybe people would just think they were going to find a quiet corner to... swap clothes.
But then the crowds nearby parted, pulling her attention like a magnet. "Hey- there's Archer," Lyra spotted him (finally!) and grabbed a handful of Avery's vest like that would help him see Archer too. Not that there was any missing Archer Goldenhawk, who'd climbed up onto the rim of the hot tub (still not warm enough for anyone to use, yet) to referee the wizard battle. He was shirtless, and wearing a sash made out of bras slung across his naked chest, his phone in his hand as he filmed the scene, narrating the fight like it was some epic battle. It should have been ridiculous, but Lyra found herself hanging off his every word. There was something strange, and captivating, the unexpected poetry of it. Whatever else he was... he was a fucking showman.
