Iestyn held out a hand to see what it was. The necklace he'd given Henry. He felt a pang of grief and hurt as he looked at the scrap of paper and the heart.
"That was a gift," he said sadly. "To protect him. I don't want it back." He kept holding his hand out, because he didn't know what to do with it. His eyes grew wet with tears, because he was tired and worried and this was all too much. Did Henry not want a reminder of Iestyn around his neck? He could've just tucked it away instead of giving it back, like a show of not wanting Iestyn in his life anymore. Henry had clearly taken steps to move on.
