"Well," Iestyn said thoughtfully, "if you're happy with them after what you went through, then your word counts for a lot. You haven't steered me wrong yet."
He went silent for a minute, frowning slightly into his tea. Things had changed so much in the last year and a half. More than he could've predicted they would, by far. Taking a sip of tea, he placed his mug down carefully. "I have spent so much of my life hiding, for one reason or another. I was bullied by this boy when I was a kid, right through school. I didn't want to stand out and be noticed. And then I just didn't have the confidence. And we came here, and- well, things were scary and complicated and we hid for months, and then we were recovering, and still hiding... I don't want to have to hide anymore. I've made so many sacrifices and I can't sit in the dark and wait for a moment longer."
He looked up at Jezza with a fixed look of determination. "Can I try a bit of that vodka pineapple?"
