"Nah," Rosario shook her head with an offhand confidence, as though she hadn't spent fifteen-odd minutes furiously trying to quash a rising fear that she'd just flushed her scholarship, her mom's job, her family's apartment and their entire future down the toilet. "People like that don't disappear people. Their whole thing is avoiding attention, right? Besides, they got money, you can make every problem go away with money." She scowled.
