Marcie shook her head slightly. "He's still grieving. He misses his brother so much, and he thinks that I don't care anymore because, I guess I'm not doing things the same way as him. The way Tragos died was just-" She swallowed, leaning into Cathal. Taking a few calming breaths, she licked her lips and thought about how much she should say, and guessed that Cathal wouldn't push for details. Did she trust him enough with this?
"He took his own life, but it was more complicated than that. He was involved with a gang, and there was bad shit happening. He wanted to get out, and he promised Kaden they would... but he went back for something and got caught, and- He thought he was saving his brother." At least, that's the story Marcie told. She could only guess what was going through Tragos' head in those last moments. She closed her eyes against the memory of Tragos' body against the bookcase, and picked up the wine again. "Kaden's so heartbroken. Their parents are dead, and their two older brothers were abusive and died because of the gang stuff too. It's been so fucking hard for him." The wine was good, giving her a bit of fortification through this.
