Marcie shook her head quickly. "No. He loves dogs. He probably..." She drifted off, remembering the way Kaden had been around Hecuba, after his transformation, leaning against her and burying his face in her fur when he thought nobody could see him. And it hurt, knowing that Kaden might have stolen a dog just so he could have a hug. She dropped her face into her hands, feeling a bit sick with grief and guilt all over again.
"He probably needed comfort, because- I don't know what I'm doing. How can I- I'm not trained for this." Kaden was clearly taking this very badly if he was throwing rocks and stealing dogs, and she couldn't help but think of the thrown hairbrush. There were parts of Kaden she just had no idea about.
