"Could've been the Joker," Cathal said, considering it deeply. "He's always on my case." He didn't want so say his first thought, which had been: 'it could be about you'. Cathal generally got along in Burlington, overly white as it was, but one of the only times he'd had real trouble had been while dating a particular woman that some mysterious figure had decided was a little too white for him. There had been a broken window then as well. (The woman hadn't gotten off free either, and the assailant had spray painted RACE TRATIOR across her driveway.)
It was possible that someone in town liked Marcella Bellini a little too much to enjoy what she was doing with Cathal.
