Marcie nodded, double checking the doors were locked before she followed Cathal back to his car. Letting someone else drive was kind of a relief, because she was getting so tired of shouldering her burden today that even this much was something. Cathal's car was comfortable and she glanced sideways at him as he drove, happy to exchange just a bit of small talk until they got back.
"Just had to get out of town," she sighed, leaning slightly to check her face in the mirror on the back of the sun visor, and licking her thumb so she could try and fix the most smudgy bits.
