Marcie managed a bit of a smile. Sitting on the side of the road for half an hour in the gathering dark in a car that wouldn't start wasn't her idea of a fun time. She'd even popped the hood to see if she could see the problem, but she wasn't in the right headspace for solving problems. She just closed it again and sat down to wait, and think, and think.
Cathal walking up in his overalls that smelled comfortingly like car grease did raise her spirits some, though. She rose to her feet. She wasn't dressed in her best either, with half her makeup cried off, wearing comfy linen shorts and a loose teeshirt instead of more romance-appropriate attire.
"Yeah, that's it alright," she agreed, pocketing her keys and closing the door. "Engine won't turn over and I can't figure it out in the dark. And I just... I couldn't call my folks." She shook her head and moved in for a hug as Cathal reached her, closing her eyes a moment as she rested her head against his shoulder. "It's been a day."
