On her way to the nursing home, Cin's hands had been shaking with nerves as she practised the things she might have to say to the nurses. But it turned out to all be for nothing as they easily accepted Cin's claims of wanting to take him for some fresh air around the grounds. They even helped get him into the wheelchair.
Getting him out of the wheelchair and into the car turned out to be a lot harder, and she was glad she'd parked slightly behind the bins and out of view. She tried to explain, very calmly and quietly, how Barak needed to help her and get into the car, but mostly he just lashed out.
It was all going to be worth it, she remained herself as she drove, with feeling of a bruise beginning to grow on her leg where where Barak had kicked her. But his legs were weak and half-useless, so it wouldn't be much of a bruise.
When she arrived at the hotel the thought of dragging Barak out seemed impossible, and so instead she went to Apollo's room and knocked. When it opened she said, breathless, "I can't get him out of the car." She gestured back towards it. "He's too heavy."
