She felt so ineffective. She was trying to help him, she really was-
"Kay," she said quietly, hoping he hadn't turned his music on already, wanting him to look at her and not be shut off from everything. "You did the right thing, calling me. Just... wanted you to know." She patted her leg, feeling a bit at a loss. She wanted to invite him to come talk with her, like they had Before, and just share some things, just them together in the privacy of the night, but he didn't look like he wanted to talk about anything.
"Um. Okay. Good night, then," she said, lingering in the doorway.
