Cathal had chosen the roast duck and pumpkin, and as they ate he told Marcie stories about the town since she'd left - a lot of it the silly gossip of small towns, about how he got himself involved with community events and liked to bake for them, how he liked to do yoga and rock climbing, and his great love of insects. (He didn't go into details about how much he liked and appreciated bugs, since a lot of people didn't consider that either dinner or first date talk.)
