Marcie shrugged. "I'm hurt, and confused, and I wish he was here to explain it himself," she said, pushing her legs out straight in front of her. She bumped her toes against the side of Kaden's knee. "Yeah, maybe I'm a little mad at him too. I'm mad at him for more than just that." She felt a familiar prickle in the back of her jaw as tears pulled at her eyes, and she blinked quickly to wash them away.
