Alan's first instinct was to tell her that she could stay there tonight, words borne both of what they had had together and because, at the core of it, Alan couldn't turn away anyone in distress, especially not a crying woman. But this also wasn't his apartment alone, and inviting Melpomene to stay when Apollo might be chasing her was not fair to do to Much- not without warning him, at the very least.
"I don't know what you should do next either," Alan admitted, and he felt the bristle of 'he said I was lucky that he loved me so much', disgusting and classic abusive words from a man, even when he was a god. "I think you're right about home." Alan sighed, looking down at sleeping Telos and wishing that he was meeting the boy in better circumstances.
When he looked back up at Melpomene it was with a determined nod. "Right. I'm going to put the kettle on and we're gonna have a cuppa, and I'm going to try and have a proper think on this. For now, all you have to do is keep taking some nice deep breaths. I don't think, from what you said, that Apollo is going to come looking for you right now." He said it with a confidence that he hoped Melpomene would believe.
