On Friday morning, after showering, Mary had noted properly how auburn her hair had become over the last month. She didn't mind the colour (she did think it rather looked good on her) but she hated it for what it meant: her feast day was looming. More than looming, it was coming hurtling at her fast and soon she would be that woman she didn't recognise: pious, repentant, strong in her faith, good-hearted, forgiving. |
