WHO: Robin hood, Friar Tuck, Will Scarlet WHEN: Wednesday morning to afternoon WHERE: Precinct house then parsonage WHAT: Freedommmmm WARNINGS: TBA?
Tuck had risen in his cell the second the sun made it's way into the sky. There were no curtains on the windows and so the light streamed in, staining the walls pink and orange. He sat up, rubbing at his eyes, curious he had been able to actually get a good night's sleep in a damn cell. Though the fact that it was markedly different from anything he had experienced with the sheriff did help.
An hour later, just as hunger started to rumble in his belly, Ethan, his arresting officer from the previous day, showed up with a plate of food in his hands. "Breakfast, rev," the man smiled at him. "It isn't lemon bars, but it'll do the trick." He passed the tray in, and Tuck was on his feet in a second to accept the food.
"I'm not picky," Tuck lied. But there were eggs and bacon and a roll and some grits on his tray and it smelled good and just because it wasn't seasoned to perfection like it would have been had he done it, it was still just fine as a breakfast. "Thanks, Ethan," Tuck winked at the man and he took the tray back to his bed to tuck into the food.
Shortly after he finished, Tuck was let back out of the cell, and allowed to sit at Ethan's desk again while they went over and over and over his statement. Ethan could tell Tuck was covering for someone, but he wasn't pushing very hard to figure out who. It was incredibly obvious he believed that even if someone else was involved, everything was Dwyane's fault.
A few hours later, Tuck was readmitted to his cell and served lunch. He was getting a bit antsy as the hours rolled on. He wanted to call Will and he very much did not want to spend another night in here, fair treatment or no.
He'd been cooling his heels for an hour, when Ethan's husband came by and smiled, leaning against the bars. "Take a deep breath, Rev. This huge detective from homicide came by and spoke to Dwayne for like 5 minutes and now he's admitted everything. Ethan's finishing up the paperwork now!"
Relief flooded through Tuck and he stood, grinning. "Oh thank God," he breathed. He went to the bars and leaned against them as well. "So I can go home?"
"Shouldn't be long. Who should I call to have pick you up?"
Tuck faltered then. He didn't want Will anywhere near here, not while Dwyane was still here to point him out. Instead, he gave Ethan Robin's number and then he was left alone again while Ethan went to make the call.
It was edging towards three in the afternoon by the time Tuck's things were finally returned to him, along with several apologies and even two hugs. Then he wandered out of the precinct to find Robin waiting for him just outside. "Friar!" Robin jumped up and he loped over to Tuck, planting the kiss he had promised Will he would give the man right on his forehead.
Tuck laughed and he leaned against Robin for a moment. "Just get me home to Will, hmm?" he said, pulling out his phone to shoot Will a text that they were on their way. It wasn't fair not to let Will know the second he was out.
And not twenty minutes later, Tuck and Robin strolled through the parsonage door. "Will!" Tuck called out. "Sweetheart, I'm home!"
