It wasn’t even that funny, but Kaden couldn’t stop laughing. He managed to keep it quiet enough that the flight attendant demonstrating how to use a seatbelt like they were all stupid didn’t hear him, but his body was shaking, and the guy in the suit kept throwing looks his way which probably wasn’t good. When the flight attendant mimed blowing air into the lifejacket that was slung around her shoulders, Kaden nearly lost it all over again, pressing his lips shut to try keep in all inside. There were too many feelings all twisting round inside him, twisting into knots that were filling him up and laughing untangled them. Sort of. A bit anyway. Enough to stop him feeling strangled.
It was better than crying anyway. By a mile. A hundred miles. Laughing at nothing just made him come off like he was crazy, or like he was a dick. That was way, way better than crying.
