Marcie nodded, setting the suitcases out of the way on the pavement, and looked about for a trolley. She tried to watch Kaden at the same time. He was so hard to read at the moment.
"Thank you," she said to Much, grateful to have his support for as long as she could get it. He at least wasn't going to blow up at her for no reason.
Okay, that wasn't fair. There was certainly a reason. She wanted to hold Kaden's hand and tell him it'd be alright, but she didn't want to treat him like a child, especially since he'd reacted so poorly before. Once the suitcases were loaded onto a trolley, she made sure Kaden was following them as they headed into the terminal to check their baggage.
The whole thing took about half an hour to complete, and then they were standing together in the departures terminal, feeling relieved that Kaden's real/fake ID had worked.
