Kaden pulled out one of his ear buds, and gave Much a nod, only just realising now how long it had been since he'd spoken to another guy. This place was pretty women heavy, and he tended to avoid the normal guests, apart from watching how they interacted with their kids.
Much wasn't a normal guest though, he was an immortal outlaw, a thief, only not the selfish sort of thief like Kaden was. Kaden knew a bunch about the Robin Hood crew, some from reading up on them back when Marcie said she knew them, some from TikTok. They weren't always the golden good guys and that made Kaden feel a bit better about meeting them, knowing they'd done some fucked up things in the past. He didn't think he'd be able to handle them if they were always noble do-gooders. He liked that their shit was like, right there to read on the internet.
Well - liked? Maybe that was the wrong word. He didn't get a kick out of it or anything, but it reassured him. The guy giving them a ride to the airport wasn't some angel.
Much didn't look immortal or noble or anything like that. Much just looked like a guy Marcie's age in a faded olive shirt with a silhouette of a T-Rex on it, a bit shorter than Kaden when he stood up, and smiling at Kaden like Kaden meant something to him.
"Really good to meet ya," Much said, still grinning, all genuine.
Urk. "Yeah," Kaden muttered, shouldering his backpack and shoving his hands deep in his pockets. Much grabbed two of Marcie's suitcases, and nodded towards the door.
"Just down in the basement," Much said, and Kaden pulled his hood up over his head. "Easy peasy."
