WHO Marcie and Much WHEN Wednesday night WHERE Much and Alan’s place WHAT Marcie needs a friend to lean on WARNINGS talk of sad things
Marcie pushed her plate back with a sigh. Although Much had made a delicious dinner, she just couldn’t bring herself to finish it off tonight, although she’d given it a valiant attempt. “Thank you,” she said, picking up her glass of water to wash it down. “I can’t eat any more. It was delicious, though.”
She was glad she had a friend outside of the events of the past months to talk to. Well, outside-ish. Much had been involved where it counted. But she hadn’t brought herself to mention Kaden at all yet, had just let Much lead the way with chit-chat as he arranged dinner and filled her in on the doings of his associates. Marcie couldn’t remember who everyone was involved with completely, but she was glad that Tuck was doing well. He had been very kind to her.
Making a mental note to reach out to Tuck, she got up from the table to carry her plate through to the kitchen sink. She’d been reluctant to leave Kaden alone, and he to see her go, but she needed some time to decompress, and it wasn’t like Kaden was alone. He’d be alright for a little while without her.
