Merlin looked around at the trio of witches, and nodded, impressed despite himself. These three were all powerful in their own ways, and he was looking forward to seeing them work.
"Lovely tea," he said, raising his cup to Hecate in gratitude. "I was just thinking-"
But what he was thinking, he would never impart, because Marcie chose that moment to arrive.
She hadn't wanted to be late. She'd wanted to arrive first so that she could stand out of the way and watch the others arrive. Hecate had filled her in on who they were, but seeing them in person was still a lot. Dressing simply in a teeshirt and jeans, she had made her way over with a stop at a clothing shop on the way to grab a few items for Kaden to wear afterwards.
Afterwards. Marcie still didn't fully believe this whole magic thing was going to yield results, with a sceptical side of her still not fully convinced that Kaden was the dog. What of Hecate had found some stray that just had a strong liking for her?
Anyway, she was here now, knocking on Hecate's door for admittance and walking in to four powerful immortals turning to look at her.
"Uh. Good evening," she said, lifting her hand in greeting. "Sorry I'm late, I got the clothes you asked for."
Merlin gave her a warm smile and nodded. She was a pretty one, and he wondered what her connection was to the whole saga.
