Freyja took Merlin's hand with a warm smile. "He's doing much better, day by day. I do believe there has been marks left on his psyche, but with time there will be improvement. Your help was invaluable to us."
Morgan had taken Kaden onto her lap as he so desperately desired, and now she was stroking his head, watching him but listening carefully to the conversations going on around her. She was curious as to what had gone on between Freyja and Merlin and the third recovering party, but not curious enough to ask.
She was curious about Freyja in general, so golden and bright and utterly gorgeous. If Morgan was interested in women, she suspected she would have found herself very drawn to Freyja. But as it was, Freyja was not just a beautiful blonde vision, but competition.
Yes, they were all to be working together, and yes there need not be a sense of competition... but there was. Morgan wanted to show that she was powerful, that she was a force not to be trifled with even in a room of world famous magic workers. And transformation magic was one of her specialties, surely that would count for something.
If Morgan had been performing this ritual alone, she would have chosen the first quarter of the moon to do it. She could see Morgan's reasoning for the waning moon - to let go of things that no longer served - but still she knew the waxing moon would have been preferable - to create, to become, to grow.
But this was Hecate's ritual, and Morgan had agreed to offer aid.
There was only one other thing that Hecate had said that made Morgan raise her eyes from the dog to look at her. "Who's Marcie?" she asked, her tone a little cold. Another witch brought in that Morgan didn't know about? She didn't recognise the name either.
