WHO Marcie, Alan WHEN Wednesday afternoon WHERE Alan's apartment WHAT Marcie and Alan are going to get to know each other a bit WARNINGS tba
So this was it, the second attempt at being a regular girl again, going out spontaneously and talking to friends and stuff. Marcie had spent far too long wallowing in grief and unhappiness at what had happened to Kaden. She needed to see daylight and pull herself out of it.
It’s what Trey would’ve wanted.
The thought of him still made her heart clench. Sometimes she thought she could smell his deodorant, or caught a glimpse of him on the street, and each time she had to swallow it down and carry on, because what else was there to do? On a whim this morning, she’d messaged Much to ask if he was home, and then went out and bought him a potted plant as a housewarming gift. Plants were nice to have. Living things in the home made the soul lighter. They both needed lightness right now.
She knocked briskly on the front door of Much’s apartment, having let herself in after checking the address was correct, and put on a smile that very almost reached her eyes.
