WHO: Ariadne and Dionysus
WHEN: Thursday
WHERE: Dionysus' place
WHAT/WARNINGS: Mischief? Drunkenness'? Excess? Absolutely none of the above? All of this is TBA

In the study room she’d managed to snag in the university’s library, Ariadne was trying to concentrate on her work, and not the intriguing silence coming from her phone. She’d finished reviewing a classmate’s chapter in exchange for his review of hers, and was just writing up the email to send with it... but her eyes kept sliding sideways to her phone. She bounced her fingertips lightly on her keyboard, then gave in and reached for it, checking the sound in case it had managed to turn itself off, like it did sometimes. Nope, still on, and still nothing.

Dionysus had been messaging her for most of the day and then, just after lunch, he’d stopped. Radio silence. It was a little like when small children went silent, and you realised that last time you’d seen them they’d been dangerously near your car keys.

Only worse, because Ariadne wanted to be getting up to mischief with the car keys too.

She sent him a casual message when she stopped for a coffee, to no reply, and she’d tried to use it as an excuse to keep working. Great! No distractions!

But seriously… what was he up to?

Maybe she’d done enough writing today. Maybe she could head home a few hours early. As soon as the thought occurred to her, she couldn’t let it go. She wanted to go home and be with him, whatever he was doing, and after all, what was stopping her? What was keeping them apart right now? Actually nothing, that’s what! Ariadne smiled to herself for this bit of self indulgence and packed up her things.

Well, there were no emergency services parked outside his building when she got there. No one hanging out the windows or spilling out onto the street. Ariadne paused for a moment at the door, tracing the carved patterns of vines in the wood, the textures of them irresistible. She ran her thumb over a little satyr hiding in the shrubbery; it was like a charm, part of the ritual of coming over.

And then curiosity reeled her in, and pulled her inside. Ariadne closed the door behind her, called out “babe?” and let the familiar feel of him draw her toward him like a magnet.

At the top of the stairs to the second floor there were two teenager girls, giggling with each other as Ariadne approached. Upon spotting her, the one wearing a red wig stood up and said, "vot iz zee password?" She was pale with makeup, her lips as red as her wig and her outfit suggestive of a long gone time period.

The other girl, black haired (not a wig) but dressed in a not dissimilar fashion, smiled up at Ariadne but didn't stand.

Ariadne gave the girls a warm but quizzical smile; they were pretty young, but could have easily been members of his theatre troupe, if the makeup and air of dramatics were anything to go by (though 'an air of dramatics' was something most people adopted if they spent a lot of time around Dionysus, to be fair.) It was hard to guess how young, and Ariadne took a couple of steps up the stairs toward them. "Happify," she suggested, giving the girls a subtle once-over for signs of intoxication.

"Incorrect!" the redhead declared, pointing a finger back down the stairs. "Ant now you muzt leeve!"

"It's 'blood'," the black-haired girl told Ariadne.

The redhead looked at her friend with annoyance. "Tehya, dude, what is even the point of a password if you give it out?"

Tehya gestured to Ariadne while looking at her friend. "She walked in the front door. She's obviously supposed to be here." She turned her attention to Ariadne and shifted across on the stairs a bit so Ariadne could pass more easily. "It's upstairs, second door on the left."

"You were supposed to wear a costume," the redhead muttered and sat back down.

"Everything's a costume," Ariadne pointed out as she stepped past them, dressed up as a mortal in a bee print pinafore over black tights. She was about to say something else about his choice in password when a terrified shrieking from the ballroom (upstairs, second door on the left) pulled her attention away, condensing the curiosity into something sharper and more concerning, and she took the last of the stairs two at a time to race toward the sound.

Dionysus had been so engrossed in what was happening before him that he'd almost missed the feeling of Ariadne entering the building. But he felt her now, getting closer, and it made his heart jump with excitement.

He slipped between warm bodies and moves towards the door, opening it and stepping out onto the landing to smile brightly at his wife. He was dressed in a cheap Halloween vampire costume, but he could make cheap work fantastically.

"Princess!" he declared, sweeping an arm around her and spinning them both on the spot. "I thought you were working? We're having a Hammer vampire marathon!"

From the open door behind them came the single dramatic scream of some damsel that Christopher Lee (glorious!) was menacing.

Well - that was a relief, to be honest. Ariadne didn't like playing the part of suspicious wife but there were times, when married to an Olympian, when it was bloody well called for. But a Hammer vampire marathon was nothing to be worried about, unless things got so out of control that the guests did start drawing each others blood, but... she'd deal with that if it eventuated. For now, Dionysus in his satin and lace was looking more delicious than dangerous, and she ran a finger down the front of his corset. "I was working," she said, "but I missed you. Tehya's friend is right, though, I'm not dressed for this at all."

"Then let's go upstairs," Dionysus suggested, taking her hand in his and turning their stance into a waltzing position. "And get you out of those clothes." He leaned and and kissed her, leaving cheap red lipstick smeared on Ariadne's lips. "And either redress you or not."

"Ooh, choices choices," Ariadne grinned, hooking her arm around his waist and leading the waltz, keeping the warm pleasure of his body pressed against her as they spun their way toward one of the bedrooms, one of Dionysus' wardrobes. She found she absolutely didn't mind, redressed or not, so long as she was by his side. "You know when you stopped messaging," she said into his ear, smiling, "every possibly mischief you could be getting up to spun through my mind."

"I almost bought a leopard," Dionysus confessed, pausing their dance towards the bedroom and dipping her, "but they told me I'd have to go pick it up myself and it seemed like such trouble to organize today." He lifted her back up to standing. "Would you like the company of such a kitty cat, my kitty cat?"

"You're enough kitty cat for me," Ariadne said, and dipped him right back, hoping that would be enough to distract him from buying a leopard but also suddenly wanting a leopard - no! Not in the city, shit. It could be far too easy to let Dionysus lead her interesting places but seriously, they were not getting a big cat.

Dionysus made a purring sound at her to prove that he was, indeed, the best kitty cat. In the dip, he reached up and flicked open one of the buckles of her pinafore. "Oops," he said as it sprang free, and he lifted himself back to stand. "You could bee in trouble."

Ariadne laughed, giving him a playful shove toward the bedroom door, stepping toward him to encourage him to keep moving backward. "Do I need to teach you how to behive?"

"Good luck, love," he crooned against her ear before suddenly picking her up and carrying her through the doorway of the bedroom. After another spin, he dumped her onto the bed (what was it that was so enchanting about being tossed onto a bed?) and then threw open the doors of the wardrobe. "I didn't buy you a costume," he said with a head shake, "and so we're going to have to make do. What theme would you like?" he asked, turning to look at her with one eyebrow raised.

Ariadne picked herself up off the rumpled sheets, leaning back on the heels of her hands. She wanted to pull him down on top of her but not as much as she wanted to see where this was going. "Something a little dangerous," she suggested, mirroring his raised brow. "Something with leather pants."

"Ah," Dionysus said seriously, digging through the clothes piled at the bottom. "The Van Helsing look." He knew that somewhere in here there was- aha! He pulled out the black leather pants with a flourish and tossed them to her. Were they Ariadne's pants or his? Hard to tell, and they were of a similar build. The most convenient feature in a wife was fitting all her clothes.

"I have that sexy open pirate shirt somewhere as well," he added, going back to his search.

She stripped off her pinafore and leggings, squeezing the leather pants over her hips - they'd probably been his originally, they were tight round her curves and a little long, but nothing some tall boots couldn't cure. "This bra doesn't scream Van Helsing," she said, turning to examine herself in the full length mirror; leather pants, butter yellow bra, hair loose down her back. "I dig this look, though. Wait wait -" she said, spotting an open bottle of wine and pouring some out into one of the bedroom glasses from last night. That was better - a glass of wine was a sexy accessory for any look.

"My queen," he told her with utter admiration, watching as she tried out the new look. He took the bottle from her hand and tipped it back to his lips, keeping his eyes on hers as he did so.

"You should wear that studded bra, all those gold studs." He paused, letting the wine bottle move back down as he looked considering. "Was that you? The studded bra? I remember making love to a woman in a studded bra, but I'd had a lot of E at the time."

When Dionysus suggested that he had had 'a lot' of any type of intoxicant, then it truly meant a lot. No human - and few immortals - could survive the amount of things that Dionysus put inside his thriving form.

Few things made her feel more like a goddess than Dionysus, her greatest love, her savior, her enthralling husband, calling her his queen. She leaned into the feeling hard, finishing half her wine and laughing as she put it down. "I haven't seen that bra since that night on the roof," she said. "When you needed to be as high as possible because you were as high as possible. I know..." she stepped forward to kiss his painted lips, his wine flavoured lips, before moving past him to the wardrobe to rummage.

There was very little order to the wardrobe, even less after several theatre kids had raided it for accessories, but a white pirate shirt was easy to spot. She lost the yellow bra and pulled it on; it was big enough to slip right off one shoulder. "Have you seen any of the little corsets? Black, obviously."

"I gave the black leather to one of the boys," Dionysus said and then slipped up behind her to kiss her throat as he spoke. "He'd never worn a corset before, he said, and he was so cute! The tiniest freshly peeled gay, and now he's in a corset." He kissed her throat against before suggesting, "you could go wild with the blue peacock feather one."

"Look at you, enabling his transformation Oh..." The last traces of any kind of feeling that she should be working slipped away as he moved behind her, and she smiled widely, giving in. "Alright then baby," she breathed, tilting her head back and closing her eyes to focus on the feel of him behind her, and the soft but thrilling press of his mouth on her throat. "I'll go wild with the peacock one."
