When Merlin appeared at the door, Elaine tipped her head and gave him a sweet smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "Do I pass the test?" she asked with just a touch of snark, and Merlin stepped back so she could come up and inside.
"Hello Mim. What brings you here on such an evening? Can I take your cloak?" He followed her up the hallway and back to the library where Luna was, taking her cloak as she unfastened it, and hanging it on a hook. The little black cat sat on her mistress' shoulder and stared at Merlin, and he pulled a face back at her.
"I've come to ask for your help once again." Elaine said, walking into the library and looking around. There was always something calming and mysterious about Merlin's library that thrilled her and spoke to her very being.
Merlin followed her, glancing towards Luna to see where she was, and then focusing fully back on the goddess. "Once again," he repeated. "Please don't tell me you are asking for what I think you are asking for." He watched her warily. "Marian has come back. What else is there to do?"
Elaine glanced over her shoulder at him, her eyes searching the room for the cabinet where he kept his potions. "The job is not yet done," she said, sounding slightly annoyed. "Why does nobody see this but me?"
