With a deep sigh, Ares nodded and drained his glass. That was probably enough whiskey to help him get to sleep pretty fast.
"Gonna need to hit the hay then," he grunted, getting up and going for a piss, leaving the glass on the floor. Once he'd fed the dogs, of course. He kind of shuffled through going back to the car to fetch dog food and the bag of baby stuff he'd taken from the boy, leaving that on the floor as he sorted the dogs. Sparta took up a place in front of the door and lay his head down with a sigh, while Nikkos took the cartoon shark blanket that had been discarded in favour of a handmade woollen blanket Melpomene had brought, and curled up with it at the foot of the bed.
Ares pulled his shirt off and tossed it aside, then turned to look at Melpomene for a moment.
"Whatever you don't want, leave it behind, whatever," he said, gesturing to the bag of things the boys had packed.
