"I don't think Serene is allowed to eat those," Luna said, giving the dog a big pout to show she was sorry for her, "and so I will eat her share."
Luna laughed at being replaced in Tinsel's affections so easily, but she could hardly blame her friend for that. "I know, I know," Luna nodded. "There's no way I can compete with that little snoot!" she reached back to scratch under Serene's chin as Serene thumped her tail as hard as she could against the seat. She turned her attention back to Tinsel in the passenger seat. "Not quite the terrifying guard dog that Hecuba is, but luckily I don't plan to need anything terrifying."
