WHO: Henry, a special guest, then Clio WHEN: Friday morning WHERE: Starbucks, then Clio's office WHAT: The willies WARNINGS: Just yukky feelings
Henry was so caught up thinking about his boyfriend's drag show later that night, that he almost didn't notice. It was a frustrating thing at times, working in a customer service job and having the Claus Family Tingle. So often he could feel that someone was not a great person, and he would try his best to be extra careful and he would still get yelled at.
The man who stood at his til wasn't just your every day, run-of-the-mill problem customer though. No, when Henry pulled himself out of his excitement over Iestyn's show to take the man's order, it was like the aura around the man turned into a giant alarm bell. And then the man seemed, on the surface of things, to be so polite. He ordered kindly. He said please and thank you. He even tipped well. There wasn't a single thing about him that screamed danger, were it not for the Tingle that sent shivers all over Henry's body every time he looked at the customer.
"Here's your hazlenut latte and your soy mocha cap," Henry said, handing the drinks over, ignoring the way his spine crawled with horror. Just get the guy out, that was all he had to do. Get him out. He couldn't remember a time a customer had set off his senses like this.
"Thanks so much, if my girlfriend doesn't get her coffee, she can be a real hardass! She's a professor and I've been helping her with her classes," the man said, easily. "See you around, buddy."
God, I hope not. "Have a nice day!" Henry called out, cheerfully. Then he escaped to the back and grabbed his shift lead, Rebecca.
"Oh my god, Rebecca, I think I just served the next Dahmer!"
