"It's - Ares-" Kaden's voice choked around the name, it couldn't be, it couldn't be but it was it was it was- "I have to go!"
But where? He couldn’t go for his car, down there with Ares. He didn’t have time to pack the baby’s things back into the bag. There was no time to do anything but run!
Kaden shoved his phone in his pocket and ran. Out the back door and into the woods, one arm wrapped firmly around the baby, hand curled around the back of his head.
Kaden was a good runner. He’d always been a good runner, but now he sprinted like the rest of his entire life depended on how well he could run.
