Anything else? Slit Cy's throat for me? felt like a little too much to ask. "If you keep Cy away overnight, then I don't need anything else right now."
There was the sound of voices from out the front and Cin looked towards it, tensing as she stood up and headed for the front door.
"Get inside," she told the four of them. "Cy's out and lookin to beat on someone."
After the four of them were in, Cin locked the door behind them and then turned back to discover all four of them watching Archie with varying levels of interest and distrust. Bailey's distrust level seemed the highest, and she pushed her blonde hair back to take him in with teenage disdain. "You're Archie," she told him, giving him nothing at all.
Brody had moved away from the others and had attached himself to Cin's leg, cheek pressed against her waist as he watched the unknown man in his house. Brody didn't really like men he didn't know.
"Archie's staying here tonight," Cin told them, and she hoped her tone made it clear this wasn't a discussion.
Bailey looked at her and raised her eyebrows. "Finally dumping the vegetable then?"
Cin's lip curled up. "Shut up, and no." She sighed. "Archie, these are siblings. This is Brody," she ruffled his hair and he continued to cling close. "Bailey, Jake and Ruth."
"Can I have skateboard?" Jake asked Archie, giving him a big grin.
"Jake," Cin snapped. "He's not buying you anything."
