Tragos shook his head - no, he was sure they hadn’t been followed. He’d been careful, he’d been paranoid. He wouldn’t have come here if he thought Apollo was following them. “He mentioned the truce,” Tragos said grimly, and with those words Kaden hit the point of being unable to pretend anything was okay, and swung himself off the couch to stomp into the kitchen. He made a loud show of opening and closing cupboards till he found a packet of chips and ripped it open with trembling hands.
“Truce doesn’t cover Kaden,” Tragos said quietly in Marcie’s ear. “And I ain’t gonna count on it being any protection for me, either. I think he’s got something planned that isn’t going to come back on him. Don’t know what. Not sticking around to find out what.”
